Our friends over at Bike Breath did a great custom build featuring a Supertramp frame from Wilde. It's part steel bikepacking rig, all terrain bike, fantastic commuter... and maybe even a rigid mountain bike? Either way, it's pure bike-building bliss.

But first, what is Bike Breath, and is it contagious?! We asked co-founder, Brendan Colameco.

What is Bike Breath?

Bike Breath might be a medical condition when one's obsession with bikes becomes so bad (or good?) that you can smell it on their breath. Also, it's a YouTube channel I created. My wife Emma and I focus on the non-competitive cycling world, also sometimes called alt cycling. Beautiful steel bikes, laid back riding vlogs, that kind of thing!

What made you and Emma start it?

We're both lifelong creatives. Emma is a visual artist, and I spent years as a touring musician. In the last 3 years I uncovered a new love for photography and videography, this quickly started to intersect with my other big passion- riding bikes. Filming bike rides started as a way for me to learn editing software. I just enjoyed creating videos for myself but I uploaded a few to YouTube to show off local trails. I started to get a sense of community and fulfillment quickly when people told me they saw a video I made. People would reach out saying I got them out the door to ride their bike, or that something I said in a video made riding bikes feel more inclusive to them.

Not long after starting I was part of a mass layoff from a big tech company and that afforded me a little career break so, I'd say this is when we really "started" Bike Breath. That's when we came up with the name and decided to focus on showing off the side of the bike world that's improved our lives so much. We like playful bike rides, relaxing rides, all terrain bikes, and it's always felt important to make our bikes look interesting/unique. I didn't see much of that kind of content on YouTube and community is important to me so, we just kept creating.
